BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Athletics has announced a time change for its season-opening match versus Missouri Western State University, Friday, Sept. 6. Originally scheduled for a 5 p.m. kick off at BSU’s Chet Anderson Stadium, the nonconference match will now begin at 4 p.m.
The match begins BSU’s 18-game regular-season schedule and is slated to be the first soccer game ever played at BSU’s Chet Anderson Stadium, which is currently undergoing a surface renovation to install field turf.
General admission tickets for all BSU soccer events can be purchased on site the day of the match. Admission for adults, alumni and senior citizens (62 and over) is $5. Youth (2 years old to 12th grade) can purchase tickets for $3. As with with all other NCAA Division II events at Bemidji State, BSU and Northwest Technical College students with a valid ID are admitted free of charge.
Bemidji State, which was slotted sixth in the 2013 NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll, is coming off a 2012 campaign during which it posted a 10-7-2 overall record and a 8-5-2 mark in NSIC play to finish sixth in the final league standings. Head Coach Jim Stone and the Beavers earned a berth into the 2012 NSIC postseason, but were ousted in the first round my Upper Iowa University, 1-0.
