The Vikings took control of the match early and would not look back. The doubles team of Brittany Gaster and Adrienne Conley defeated BSU’s No. 1 doubles pair of Lindsey Luberda (Sr., Champlin, Minn.) and Kara Johnson (Jr., Andover, Minn.) in straight sets, 8-0. Augie also then took the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches over Brittney Greenwaldt (So., Morris, Minn.)/Kelli Christiansen (So., Bemidji, Minn.) and Kara Johnson (Jr., Andover, Minn.)/Miranda Milless (Motley, Minn.), 8-2 to hold a 3-0 lead heading into singles competition. Augustana would not stop there, earning wins at all six singles positions to complete the sweep over the Beavers. BSU’s best chance to score came at No. 2 singles where Luberda, a newcomer to the Bemidji State squad, bounced back from a 6-1 first-set loss to AC’s Michelle Wadas to win three games before falling 6-3. The Beavers continue play tomorrow when they host Northern State University. The match is schedule to start at 6 p.m. at the Gillett Recreation-Fitness Center. --bsu--
