Bemidji State lands 27 on Spring Academic All-NSIC Team

Bemidji State University had 27 student-athletes, which includes four members of its tennis team, selected to the 2011 Spring Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, announced by the league office today.


BSU falls to Winona State and Minnesota State

The Bemidji State University tennis team wrapped up the 2011 campaign with a pair of 9-0 losses to Winona State University and Minnesota State University in Aberdeen, S.D. on Saturday night. BSU finished the season with a 3-12 (2-9 NSIC) mark.


BSU falls to Northern State 6-3

The Bemidji State University tennis team fell 6-3 to Northern State University on Saturday morning in Aberdeen, S.D. The Beavers fall to 3-10 (2-6 NSIC). The Wolves improve to 6-8 (3-6 NSIC).


BSU tennis to wrap up season with three NSIC matches

The Bemidji State University tennis team will finish up their first season under head coach Beth Campus on Saturday and Sunday in three NSIC tilts in Aberdeen, S.D. The Beavers will face Northern State University at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Winona State University at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and Minnesota State University at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Bemidji State University’s Kara Johnson (Sr., Anoka, Minn.) and Garrett Nelson (Jr., Baudette, Minn.) have been named Beaver Pride Athletes of the Week after recording outstanding athletic performances between March 28-April 3.

The Bemidji State University tennis team picked up a 6-3 victory over University of Minnesota, Crookston Saturday at Center Court Fitness Center in Grand Forks, N.D. With the victory the Beavers improve to 3-9 (2-6 NSIC). The Golden Eagles drop to 4-9 (1-8 NSIC)


BSU treks to Grand Forks to face Minnesota, Crookston

The Bemidji State University tennis team will take on University of Minnesota, Crookston on Sat., April 2 at 3 p.m. in Grand Forks, N.D. The Beavers are coming off a victory over University of Mary last weekend as they improved to 2-9 overall in Beth Campus' first season at the helm.


Christiansen and Sander garner Beaver Pride Athlete of the Week honors

Bemidji State University’s Kelli Christiansen (Jr., Bemidji, Minn.) and Ryan Sander (Sr., 6-2, St. James, Minn.) have been named Beaver Pride Athletes of the Week after recording outstanding athletic accomplishments during the week of March 21-27.


BSU picks up second victory 8-1 over U-Mary

The Bemidji State University tennis team picked up their second win of the season on Friday night in a 8-1 decision over University of Mary. The Beavers improve to 2-9 with Friday's win. The Marauders fall to 0-6 with the loss.


BSU falls 7-2 to UMD

The Bemidji State University tennis team fell 7-2 to University of Minnesota Duluth Wednesday afternoon in Duluth, Minn. BSU was unable to match their 5-4 victory over UMD earlier this year as they fall to 1-9 on the year with the loss. The Bulldogs improve to 2-8 with the victory.


Hafdahl and Walters garner Beaver Pride Athlete of the Week honors

Bemidji State University’s Meg Hafdahl (So., Virginia, Minn.) and Shea Walters (Jr., F, Hibbing, Minn.) have been named Beaver Pride Athletes of the Week after recording outstanding athletic performances between March 14-20.

Bemidji State University Director of Athletics Dr. Rick Goeb today announced the hiring of Beth Campus as head coach of the BSU tennis program, while the university has added Lindsey Luberda on as an assistant coach.


Tennis squad lands five on Spring Academic All-NSIC Team

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bemidji State University had 26 student-athletes selected to the 2010 Spring Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Team, announced by the league office today. BSU’s 26 representatives, on the 426-member All-Academic team, ranked 11th in the 14-team NSIC. Minnesota State University, Mankato was the most represented with 55, Augustana College was second with 43 and Winona State University rounded-out the top three with 38. The men’s and women’s outdoor track and field squads led Bemidji State, as each had six student-athletes on the team. Baseball and women’s tennis each had five, softball had two and the men’s and women’s golf programs each had one student-athlete on the list. Sports considered for the Spring All-NSIC Academic Team are: baseball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, women’s tennis, men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. To be eligible for the Academic All-NSIC Team, student-athletes must maintain a grade-point average of 3.20 or better, be a member of a varsity traveling team and have reached sophomore academic standing at his or her institution with one full year completed at that campus. Bemidji State University, located in Bemidji, Minn., is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
