SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Bemidji State University tennis team dropped an Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference road match at University of Sioux Falls Saturday, 6-3.
The Beavers found themselves in an early hole, dropping two of three doubles matches. Senior Shaylin Prout made her return to the line up after sitting out last weekend due to injury and paired with Deanie Hatch in the No. 2 singles slot for BSU's lone doubles point, 9-7.
Bemidji State's singles scoring came out of the No. 3 and 4 singles positions. Morgan Opp battled back from a 6-1 loss in the opening set to gain a 6-3 victory in the second and eventually won her third singles match after a 15-13 marathon tie breaker. In the No. 4 slot, Zoe Lindgren earned a straight-sets victory, 6-3, 7-5.
The Beavers, who are now 4-3 overall and 3-3 in NSIC play, continue road play tomorrow when they battle Augustana University. The match is set to begin at 9 a.m.
