SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Huether Family Match Pointe) -- The Bemidji State University Tennis team continued Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play Sunday with a match at Augustana University. The league’s top team defeated BSU at each position to earn a 9-0 victory.
Bemidji State shuffled its line up for the match moving the duo of Hannah Alme and Brooke Mimmack to the No. 1 doubles position and senior Zoë Lindgren was paired with freshman Rachel Will in the No. 2 doubles slot, both BSU pairs lost, 8-1. In the No. 3 doubles match, BSU’s Breann Walsh teamed up with Jacki Damberg, for an 8-2 loss.
Augustana continue its roll through singles play, earning straight-sets victories at al six positions. Lindgren dropped her No. 1 match 6-0, 6-2, Alme fell at No. 2 6-3, 6-2, Walsh was defeated 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3, Will suffered a 6-1, 6-2 loss in the No. 4 slot, Hope Johnson played the No. 5 singles match for BSU and lost 6-0, 6-0 and Hannah Peterson dropped the No. 6 singles match up 6-1, 6-0.
The Beavers, now 3-3 overall and 3-3 in league play, returns to the Gillett Wellness Center March 1 for an NSIC matinee versus University of Minnesota Duluth. The opening serve is set for 1:30 p.m.
