RIVER FALLS, Wis. --The Bemidji State University tennis team wrapped up its fall season by sweeping singles play in an 8-1 victory at University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Brooke Mimmack and Hannah Alme and Ariadna Lopez-Simo and Laney Rutkowski posted 8-2 victories in the No. 1 and 2 doubles matches, respectively to give the Beavers a 2-1 lead heading into singles play and a clean sweep of all six singles spots and an exhibition win propelled BSU to a 8-1 victory Saturday to finish the fall portion of its 2019-20 season 2-1. In addition, newcomer and Bemidji native Sam Edlund posted a straight-sets victory in an exhibition match to ad to the Beavers' singles dominance.
The Beavers will open the competition portion of their season Feb. 2 when they travel to Grand Forks, N.D. for a non-conference match up with NCAA Division I foe University of North Dakota.
