Buerkle tabbed First Team Academic All-America

Bemidji State University women’s track and field student-athlete Kristi Buerkle (Sr., Stacy, Minn.) has been named to the Capital One College Division Academic All-America® Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country First Team. The Stacy, Minn. native becomes BSU’s fourth track and field athlete to make an appearance on the academic All-America team and the 15th Academic All-America selection in school history.


Buerkle selected to Capitol One Academic All-District V team

Bemidji State University sprinter Kristi Buerkle (Sr., Stacy, Minn.) has been selected to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District® V Women’s Track and Field Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday. Buerkle, a six-time All-America performer, earned a first-team nod and will now be included on the 2010-11 College Division Capitol One/CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot.


Buerkle places fourth in the 400; Completes collegiate career at NCAAs

In the final race of her collegiate career, Buerkle, one of the most decorated track and field athletes in Bemidji State history, ran a strong 400-meter dash to finish fourth under the canopy of a rainbow with a time of 55.04 seconds. The race makes the sprinter a six-time All-America performer.


Juell places seventh; Gains All-America honors in the decathlon

Bemidji State University multi-event athlete Tandy Juell (So., Redwood Falls, Minn.) completed his debut at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships gaining All-America accolades in the decathlon Friday, while senior sprinter Kristi Buerkle (Stacy, Minn.) participated in the 200-meter dash preliminary rounds in Turlock Calif.

Bemidji State track and field braves weather to compete in Holst Invite

Senior Kristi Buerkle (Stacy, Minn.) led an abbreviated version of the Bemidji State University track and field teams Saturday at the Holst Invitational in St. Paul, Minn. The All-America sprinter posted a season-best 12.41 en route to taking first place and establishing a new Host Invitational record in the 100-meter dash. Buerkle's top five finish was one of the nine for the Beavers in the meet.

The Bemidji State University track and field programs will host a Speed Quest Clinic Sat., March 19 at Gillett Recreation/Fitness Center on the campus of BSU. Registration for coaches and athletes begins in the foyer of the Gillett Recreation/Fitness Center at 12 p.m. Registration for athletes is $20, which includes a Speed Quest t-shirt.
