The Bemidji State University women’s track and field team competed Friday in the Kip Janvrin Open on the campus of Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, taking the 4x100-meter relay crown with a season-best time of 49.98 seconds.


Ohman, Larva clock school records at Cobber Twilight

Senior Michelle Ohman (Prior Lake, Minn.) and junior Ashley Larva (Jr., Floodwood, Minn.) powered the Bemidji State University track and field team Tuesday at the Cobber Twilight. Ohman shattered the school’s 33-year-old record in the 800-meter run, while Larva broke the 100-meter hurdles record.

Beavers battle weather at Holst Invitational

The Bemidji State University women’s track and field team dealt with rain and windy conditions Saturday at the Holst Invitational on the campus of Concordia University, St. Paul. Junior multi-event athletes Taylor Sautbine (Tamarack, Minn.) and Ashley Larva (Floodwood, Minn.) paced the Beavers with second-place finishes in the 100-meter dash and 100-meter hurdles, respectively, as BSU claimed seven top five finishes on the day.


Beavers set sights on Holst Invitational

The Bemidji State University women’s outdoor track and field team travels to St. Paul, Minn. to compete in the Holst Invitational Saturday, April 21. The event will be held at Sea Foam Stadium on the campus of Concordia University, St. Paul with the hammer throw and javelin kicking-off the field events at 10 a.m. The running events get underway with the 10,000-meter run at 10 a.m.

Multi-event standout Taylor Sautbine (Jr., Tamarack, Minn.) competed in the St. Benedict Multi Saturday and Sunday at Clemens Stadium on the campus of Saint John’s University, placing third in the heptathlon with 3,861 total points.

The Bemidji State University women’s track and field team travels to Collegeville, Minn. to compete in the Saint John’s Triangular and Multi meets Saturday and Sunday at Clemens Stadium on the campus of Saint John’s University. Events are set to get underway at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the multi event continuing at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Bemidji State women’s track and field team competed in the Cobber Pentathlon and Cobber Open Friday and Saturday. Captain Kirsten Maras steered the way as she paced the pack and a heavy BSU continent in the 800-meter run, while multi-event athlete Ashley Larva collected a personal-best 2,749 points to finish fourth in the pentathlon.


Beavers trek to Moorhead to compete in Cobber Open

The Bemidji State women’s track and field team travels to Moorhead, Minn. to compete in the Cobber Pentathlon Friday and the Cobber Open Saturday, hosted by Concordia College-Moorhead. Events will get underway for the multi event pentathlon Friday begining at 5:40 p.m. with the 60-meter hurdles and end with the 800-meter run. Saturday’s open will kick off at 11:30 a.m. with the long jump, while the running events begin at 12:30 p.m. with the 4x200-meter relay.

The Beavers won three event titles, with the lone individual title coming from Ohman as she paced the competition with a time of one minute 41.97 seconds in the 600-meter run.
