BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University track and field program prepares to take part in a three-day weekend, beginning Friday and Saturday at the South Dakota State University Classic and finishing Sunday with the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Multi meet.

Events Friday begin at 2 p.m. with the final event of the day taking place at 9:35 p.m. Saturday’s event starts at 9 a.m. with the final event commencing at 4:55 p.m., all taking place at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.

The NSIC Multis will take place Sunday in Mankato, Minn., which will score points towards the NSIC Indoor Championships set for Friday, Feb. 23.

Five Beavers set personal records Saturday, Feb. 3 as the squad took part in the Lake Superior Challenge held in Duluth, Minn. Among the five to set career marks, 13 total Beavers placed among the top five of their respective events at the event hosted by College of St. Scholastica.

Bemidji State ended the day with two student-athletes taking first place on the day, including junior Kelsey Hurley in the high jump with a mark of 4-feet-09.00-inches and sophomore Savanah Olson in the shot put with a throw of 41-07.00. Junior Christa Benson took second in the 600m run with a time of 1:44.47 while junior Samara Tobeck took second in the weight throw with a personal record toss of 48-08.75.

In the lone relay of the day, the team of Benson, Hurley, freshman Venice Stewart and freshman Aneesa Tucker took second in the 4x400m with a time of 4:16.49.

Bemidji State travels to Grand Forks, N.D., Saturday, Feb. 17 for the University of North Dakota Indoor Tuneup.
