MANKATO, Minn. -- Four Bemidji State University women’s track and field student-athletes stepped to the podium as the final day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships wrapped up in Mankato, Minn. Two runners finished among the top eight Saturday and two pentathlon participants received their honors after competing earlier in February.

Juniors Christa Benson and Kelsey Hurley each reached earned points while finishing among the top eight of the pentathlon event held Feb. 11. Freshmen Venice Stewart and Aneesa Tucker each competed in the finals Saturday afternoon, both capturing seventh place in their respective events.

Stewart finished the 200m dash with a personal record time of 25.40 while Tucker completed the 800m run in 2:22.41. Also participating Saturday were sophomores Gena Baklund and Savanah Olson in the shot put. Olson took 10th with a toss of 41-03.75 while Baklund took 28th with a throw of 32-09.75.

Freshmen Cheri’A Adams and Analise Fabre took part in the triple jump, as Adams took 13th with a distance of 35-feet-04.50-inches and Fabre took 19th with a personal record of 34-10.50. The relay team of Benson, Hurley, Tucker and Stewart finished 10th in the 4x400m relay.
