SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Olsen Stadium) -- Sophomore sprinter Jada Barker set a personal record best mark while leading the way for the Bemidji State University track and field program Thursday afternoon at the Sioux City Relays held in Sioux City, Iowa. Barker ended the day with two top-six finishes for the Beavers while junior Christa Benson also brought home a sixth-place finish.

Barker took third for her best finish of the day in the 200-meter dash with a third-place time of 25.70. She also placed sixth in the 100m dash to qualify for the finals round with a personal best time of 12.34. Benson ended with BSU’s third of four top-10 finishes with a sixth-place time of 1:06.50 in the 400m hurdles. Junior Kelsey Hurley rounded out the Beavers’ top 10 finishes with eighth place in the 200m dash and a time of 25.98.

Five Beavers set personal records on the day including Barker in the 100m dash, sophomore Kristen Petron in the 800m run, junior Regan Grube hammer throw, and sophomore Gena Baklund and freshman Molly O’Neil in the discus throw.

Bemidji State closes out the Sioux City Relays Friday with the final day of events beginning at 10 a.m.
