SPORT(S) Track and Field

Jane Reimer-Morgan graduated from BSU in 1977 with a degree in physical education and health after completing her AA degree at Brainerd Community College. While at BSU, Jane participated in both basketball and track & field for one year, serving as the team captain of the track team. Since leaving BSU, Jane has had a high school teaching and coaching career that spans 34 years, with time spent in Brainerd, Staples, Parkers Prairie and Breck, and since 1985 at Minnetonka High School. Jane has coached track & field all 34 years, amassing numerous team records and coaching honors. They include having seven of her 4 x 800 relay teams qualify for the state tournament, taking first place honors four times. Her 2005 team still holds the record for the best time in the state. She was honored as the District 22 boys track Coach of the Year in 1982 and has been named the Section 6AA Coach of the Year five times. In 2005, Jane was named the Minnesota Class AA State Track and Field Coach of the Year. In addition to track, Jane also coached cross country for 19 years, with her teams earning eight consecutive appearances at the state meet placing 1st and 2nd two times each. She was named the Section 6AA cross country Coach of the Year three times and the State Championship Coach in 2005.  In addition to those sports, Jane also spent 11 years as a high school volleyball coach. Her induction into the BSU Alumni Coaches Hall of Fame follows her induction into the Minnesota Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Pillager High School Hall of Fame as an 'Advocate for Women's Sports' this past year. Jane and her husband, Chuck Morgan, make their home in Deephaven, Minnesota, and have two grown daughters, Conny and Taylor, and three grown sons, Ryan, Patrick and Nate.
