Beavers finish ‘Dome season’ with Minnesota State
BEMIDJI, Minn. -- The Bemidji State University baseball team finishes its 16-game ‘season’ at the H.H.H. Metrodome March 2-3 with a four-game set versus Minnesota State University, Mankato. The nonconference meeting will see a doubleheader Tuesday start at 5 p.m. and the twin-bill slated for Wednesday is set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.

About the Teams:
The Beavers are 7-5 this season and the Mavericks stand with a 4-1 record. BSU is coming off a 1-3 series with St. Cloud State Feb. 26-27 at the Metrodome. The Beavers won the first game 6-5, before falling 13-2, 7-1 and 3-1. MSU is riding a three-game winning streak, downing University of Wisconsin-Parkside 6-0 and 10-4 at the Metrodome Feb. 27 in its last action.

BSU Leaders: BSU is led in batting by junior outfielder Nick Jelacie (Brainerd, Minn.), who is sporting a .474 batting average. He leads the team in hits (18), runs (14), doubles (5) and triples (3). In the field he has 19 putouts, one assist and zero errors for a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. On the mound, sophomore Ethan Branum (LHP, Brainerd, Minn.) has a 3.52 earned run average, with a 3-1 record to lead the team in wins. He has appeared in five games, pitching 7.2 relief innings, striking out six batters and holding the opponents to a .160 batting average.

Next Up: The Beavers travel south during BSU’s spring break to play two nine inning games with Emporia State in Emporia, Kan. March 9-10 and then a nine inning contest with Arkansas Tech March 11 in Russelville, Ark.
