Home finale remains May 1 with 1 p.m. start

BEMIDJI, Minn. ­— The Bemidji State University baseball home finale against Southwest Minnesota State University will remain Tuesday, May 1 due to the finals schedule of the SMSU student-athletes. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Rain and thunderstorms in the Bemidji area are forecasted for tomorrow. Stay tuned to BSUBeavers.com and @BSUBeavers on Twitter for schedule updates.

The Beavers are 19-25 overall and 12-18 in NSIC play to sit 10th in the league standings with one week of competition remaining in the regular season. BSU is looking for its 20th win this week to become the sixth team in program history to reach the 20-win plateau in the 61 seasons of baseball at Bemidji State. The Beavers are still in the hunt for a conference playoff spot with six games remaining. The top six teams at the end of the regular season make the postseason tournament. Southwest Minnesota State is seventh in the standings with a 12-16 league mark (22-21 overall).
