BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University Baseball Head Coach Tim Bellew announced the 2016 schedule today. The Beavers begin the season Feb. 12-14 with a four-game stretch at Missouri Southern State University before later opening home play April 9-10 against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponent Winona State University.

The Beavers travel south for the first month of games, including the season-opening series at Missouri Southern State in Joplin, Mo. Bemidji State continues action in Missouri March 4-11 with a doubleheader against Truman State University, a three-game series against William Jewell College and one contest at Rockhurst University.

Bemidji State wraps up its non-conference schedule with five consecutive days of action March 13-17 with single games played. BSU will play at Oklahoma City University, Lubbock Christian University, a two-game series versus Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and Emporia State University.

The Beavers finish non-conference play with a single game March 18 in Fayette, Iowa against Upper Iowa University. After BSU’s lone game with the Peacocks, the remainder of the schedule will be doubleheaders.

Bemidji State plays in three road series to open the NSIC schedule, starting with Concordia University-St. Paul March 25-26 before another four-game series at Minnesota State University Mankato April 2-3. Northern State University will then host BSU April 6 for a doubleheader.

BSU opens its home schedule April 9 in a doubleheader with Winona State University. The Beavers and Warriors will finish the series with one game April 10. Bemidji State will then host University of Minnesota Crookston April 13 and University of Sioux Falls April 16-17, before another road series at Minot State University April 20.

Three of the final four series for the Beavers will be home contests. University of Minnesota Duluth enters BSU Baseball Field April 23-24 while St. Cloud State University comes in April 27. Bemidji State hits the road for its final road contests April 30-May 1 at University of Mary. BSU then wraps up regular season action with a home doubleheader against Southwest Minnesota State University May 4.
