BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University baseball head coach Tim Bellew announced the program’s 2017 schedule today, highlighted by two doubleheaders to open the season Feb. 22 and 23 to be played at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

BSU faces two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams in non-conference action at neutral sites, followed by a three game series at William Jewell College March 3-5, before heading South March 10-19 on its spring trip. The Beavers will begin NSIC games on the tail end of the spring trip in hopes of qualifying for the conference tournament for the first time since 2013.

The program open’s its 66th season of play against Upper Iowa University and University of Minnesota Duluth at US Bank Stadium. Both series will be doubleheaders with the Beavers’ games against the Peacocks (Feb. 22) beginning at 7:30 p.m. and against the Bulldogs (Feb. 23) at 4:30 p.m.

Bemidji State travels through four states on its spring trip between March 3-19, facing Arlington Baptist College (three games; March 10-11), Rogers State University (one game; March 14), Emporia State University (one game; March 15) and closing with the NSIC opener at Augustana University (four games; March 18-19).

After two doubleheaders March 25-26 at Winona State University, BSU will play its home opener March 29 as a doubleheader against Concordia University-St. Paul. The Beavers remain at home over the next three series, hosting University of Sioux Falls (four games; April 1-2), Northern State University (two games; April 5) and University of Minnesota Crookston (two games; April 11). BSU travels April 14-15 for a four-game series at Wayne State College before returning home for two series against Minot State University (two games; April 19) and Minnesota State University Mankato (four games; April 22-23).

Bemidji State’s final three series will be at University of Mary (two games; April 26), at home versus Southwest Minnesota State University (four games; April 29-30) and at St. Cloud State University (four games; May 6-7).

Following the regular season, the NSIC will host its conference tournament May 10-13 in St. Cloud, Minn.
