BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Baseball Head Coach Tim Bellew released the 2020 Bemidji State University baseball schedule, which begins Feb. 21-22 with three games against Rockhurst University at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The Beavers will take their annual spring trip March 6-10 before opening the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schedule March 14.
The 69th season of BSU baseball begins with a seven-inning doubleheader Feb. 21 against Rockhurst at US Bank Stadium. The first pitch on the season is set for 4 p.m. before the three-game finale Feb. 22 at 12 p.m., a nine-inning contest. Bemidji State will play its first true road games Feb. 27 through March 1 with a four-game non-conference series at William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo. The Beavers and Cardinals open the series Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. with one nine-inning game. BSU and WJC will then play two seven-inning games Feb. 28 at 12 p.m. before a series-finale nine-inning game March 1 at 12 p.m.
The Beavers will travel to Tucson, Ariz., March 6-10 for its annual spring trip, playing five nine-inning games. BSU’s opponents during its spring trip are yet to be announced. When Bemidji State returns from its spring trip, it will begin NSIC play at 12 p.m. March 14 with seven-inning and nine-inning games at Minnesota State University, Mankato. The Beavers and Mavericks close out the NSIC series at 12 p.m. March 15 with a nine-inning game before a non-conference, seven-inning contest.
Bemidji State will face Winona State University (March 18), University of Sioux Falls (March 21-22) and Upper Iowa University (March 25) on the road before finishing up the month of March with its home opener against Augustana University (March 28-29).
The NSIC schedule will continue into the month of April with home games against Wayne State College (April 1), Concordia University-St. Paul (April 7), Northern State University (April 18-19), University of Mary (April 22) and Minot State University (April 29). BSU will play on the road at Southwest Minnesota State University (April 10-11), St. Cloud State University (April 15) and University of Minnesota Crookston (April 25-26) with a nine-inning, non-conference game at North Dakota State University (April 20) sandwiched in between.
Bemidji State will close out the regular season with a four-game series in Bemidji, Minn., against University of Minnesota Duluth. The first three games of the series will be NSIC contests with the final seven-inning game recorded as non-conference. The NSIC Tournament will take part May 6-9 on the campuses of Augustana and Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, S.D. The NCAA Midwest Regional will be held May 14-16 with the host site yet to be announced. The NCAA World Series will be held May 30 through June 6 in Cary, N.C.
Head Coach Tim Bellew enters his 15th season with Bemidji State. Bellew is BSU’s all-time winningest coach with 218 wins.
