BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Baseball Head Coach Tim Bellew released the 2021 Bemidji State University baseball schedule, which begins March 6-11 with five games during the team’s spring strip in Fort Scott, Kan. BSU begins Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play March 20 before hosting its first home games April 2.
The Beavers will play 40 games in total, with the opening five during their spring trip as the only non-conference contests. All five spring trip games will be nine-inning contests. During the NSIC schedule, all doubleheaders will begin with a seven-inning game followed by a nine-inning, while solo game days will feature a nine-inning contest.
Bemidji State’s opening day on March 6 will feature a doubleheader against the University of Minnesota Crookston at 2 p.m. followed by William Jewell at 5 p.m. BSU will also face St. Cloud State University March 9 at 11:30 a.m. before wrapping up the trip versus UMC March 10 at 11:30 a.m. and against SCSU March 11 at 11:30 a.m.
BSU begins NSIC play March 20 with the start of 10 straight road games at Minnesota State University, Mankato. During the road trip, BSU will face Winona State University March 24, the University of Sioux Falls March 27-28 and Upper Iowa University March 30.
Bemidji State is scheduled to open its home schedule April 2 with a three-game series against Augustana University. BSU will play its next four games in Bemidji April 7 against Wayne State College and April 14 against Concordia University-St. Paul. Bemidji State will take to the road April 17 with a three-game series at Southwest Minnesota State University followed by a doubleheader April 21 at St. Cloud State.
BSU will host Northern State University April 24-25 and the University of Mary April 28 before taking its final five-game road trip of the season. Bemidji State will travel to face Minnesota Crookston May 1-2 before hosting Minot State University May 5 and the University of Minnesota Duluth May 7-8 for the final games of the regular season.
The NSIC Tournament will take part May 12-15 on the campuses of Augustana and Sioux Falls in Sioux Falls, S.D. The NCAA Midwest Regional will be held May 20-22 with the host site yet to be announced. The NCAA World Series will be held June 5-12 in Cary, N.C.
