BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University football team opens the lid on the 2013 season Thursday, Sept. 5 when it travels to Winona State University to battle the Warriors in a 6 p.m. Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest.

• The Beavers were tabbed to finish sixth overall and fourth in the NSIC North in the NSIC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.
• Seniors Avery Walker (RB, Milwaukee, Wis.) and Matthew Shaver (NT, St. Cloud, Minn.) were named BSU’s Players to Watch.
• Sophomore linebacker Connor Quinn is the only returning player to be named all-conference a season ago. He was named All-NSIC Second Team.
• In addition to finishing No. 15 nationally in total defense, the Beaver Gang Green defense closed 2012 No. 15 in rushing defense and No. 18 in scoring defense.
