BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- Sophomore Brandon Alt’s efforts to lead Bemidji State University football to a 62-40 win over the University of Mary earned the quarterback his second Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor this season, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Alt, a native of Cottage Grove, Minn., finished Saturday’s win with 435 passing yards and five touchdowns, his second 400-yard passing and fourth 5+ passing touchdown game of the season. He completed 57.5 percent of his passes with three touchdowns going for over 50 yards. Alt extended his BSU single-season records in passing yards, touchdowns and completions, and set the NSIC single-season record for touchdown passes with 43.
Alt and the Beavers secured their sixth NSIC Overall Championship and third NSIC North Division Championship with Saturday’s win over the Marauders. Bemidji State will continue its season with its first-ever NCAA Football Championship appearance Saturday, Nov. 20 at Augustana University.
