2010 (Jr): Played in seven games and started four at the linebacker position before suffering a season-ending injury... Piled-up 21 tackles, 11 coming from solo efforts... Tallied 5.5 tackles for loss, totaling 23 lost yards... Had one sack for a four yard loss... Picked-up a fumble and returned it 67 yards for his first-career touchdown... Forced one fumble.
    His 67-yard return was the first fumble return for a touchdown by a BSU player since 2004... Posted six tackles (two solo), including a half tackle for loss against Augustana (Sept. 11)... Added five tackles (three solo), one for loss, in the game with UMD... Totaled four tackles (two for loss) and a tackle for loss (-10 yards) against Upper Iowa... Recorded his one sack in the season-opener at Minot State (Aug. 26) resulting in a four yard loss.

2009 (So): Was a key reserve for the 2009 linebacker corps... Played in 10 games... Totaled 23 tackles, which included 10 solo stops... Also piled up three tackles for loss and forced a fumble.
    Made his 2009 debut recording a season-high five tackles (1 solo) agasint Minot State (8/27/09)... Posted four assisted tackles at Minnesota State (9/5/09)... Made a solo tackle and forced a fumble versus St. Cloud State (10/3/09)... Finished the season with a pair of tackles in each of the Beavers’ last two contests.

2008 (Fr): Was a regular in the BSU secondary in 2008 seeing time in all 11 games and sliding into the starting line up as a linebacker for the final four games... An Honorable Mention All-NSIC pick, Knutson was one of only three rookies hailing from the NSIC North to be honored... Finished his first collegiate season with 39 tackles (17 solo)... His 8.0 tackles for loss (-41 yards) ranked second among his defensive teammates, while his 3.0 sacks was good for third... The hard-hitting linebacker forced a pair of fumbles and accounted for the Beavers’ only safety of the season.
    Posted his first tackle in the green and white at Minot State (8/28/08)... Set a career standard with four solo tackles, which included three tackles for loss (-20), a sack, two forced fumbles and a safety at Wayne State (10/11/08)... Posted a season-high 12 tackles (three solo) and nine assisted tackles versus Minnesota, Crookston (10/18/08).

2007 (RS): Sat out entire season as a redshirt.

Prior to BSU: Four-time letterwinner in football and basketball; also lettered in track at Bagley High School... Three-time all-conference selection; North Star Conference MVP and All-Section 8AA selection in 2006... Honorable-mention all-state at both linebacker and wide receiver... Coached by Chuck Anderson.
