2015 (Sr): Named on the 2015 NSIC North Division All-Conference First Team Defense... Played in 11 games recording 10.5 tackles for a loss of 31 yards and one sack… Totaled 47 tackles, 26 of which were solo… Had one interception, one fumble, and broke up one pass.
2014 (Jr): Started all 11 games at linebacker for the Beavers... Was eighth on the team in total tackles with 50 (30 solo, 20 assisted) along with 8.5 tackles for a loss which was fourth on the team... Led the team with four interceptions... Also had two sacks, two passes broken up and one fumble recovery that he returned for 21 yards... Had a career high two interceptions versus Northern State (Nov. 15).
2013 (So): Played in 10 and started seven games at inside linebacker… Closed sophomore season second on the team in tackles with 71… The 32 solo efforts also finished second at BSU… In the NSIC regular season, Button finished tied for 19th in tackles per game with 7.1… Placed eighth in the league in tackles for loss with 11, while the 45 yards lost sat sixth… Racked-up 5.5 sacks (-31 yards) to lead the team and finish 10th in the NSIC.
Recorded six or more tackles in eight of 10 games, which included two games in double figures… Posted a season-high 12 tackles (five solo) with 1.5 tackles for loss (-6 yards) and a sack (-5 yards) at MSU Moorhead (Nov. 9)… Posted 10 tackles (three solo) and a tackle for loss (-1 yard) versus U-Mary (Oct. 12)… Recorded a career-high eight solo tackles in a nine-tackle effort at Northern State (Oct. 19)… Added two tackles for loss (-7 yards) and a sack versus the Wolves… Totaled a career-high two sacks (-12 yards), which tied for the team-high, with seven solo tackles in the season-finale at Minot State (Nov. 16)… Recorded first-career sacks at Augustana (Sept. 21) with 1.5 for negative 12 yards.
2012 (Fr): Played in 10 games... Totaled six tackles (five solo) with one tackle for loss that resulted in a loss of two yards... Four of six tackles came on special teams coverage (two kickoff, two punt)... Posted two solo tackles (one for loss) at Sioux Falls (Sept. 22)... Made collegiate debut in the season opener against Upper Iowa (Aug. 31).
2011 (RS): Sat out entire season as a redshirt.
Prior to BSU: Button was a versatile player at Eau Claire North High School that will play the linebacker position at BSU... A captain his senior year, he was named a Big Rivers Conference First Team Defense player and was a honorable mention all-state performer... Led the team in tackles his junior and senior seasons totaling 210 tackles, 24 for loss, 10 forced fumbles, 18 sacks and one blocked punt in those two years... Button is a four-sport athlete, earning eight letters in, football (3), baseball (3), basketball (1) and powerlifting (1)... Named all-conference in baseball after his sophomore and junior seasons, including conference pitcher of the year laurels his junior year and finished second at nationals in the 220 pound weight class in powerlifting in 2008.
