2017 (Sr): Played in all 11 games during his final campaign as a Beaver... Totaled 37 tackles on the season including five tackles for a loss of 22 yards... Finished the season with three sacks for 19 yards... Broke up one pass vs Concordia-St. Paul (Sept. 9)... Tied his career high four assisted tackles for the fourth time in his career vs Minot State (Oct. 14) and forced his first career fumble vs Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 26)... Named to the 2017 NSIC North Division All-Conference Second Team Defense.

2016 (Jr): Played in all 12 games totaling 36 tackles on the season (22 solo, 14 assisted)... Recorded 12 tackles for a loss (67 yards)... Tallied a team high 8.5 sacks for 58 yards... Forced 1 fumble and recovered it vs Minot State (Oct. 15)... Broke up 2 passes... Set a career high 7 tackles vs Upper Iowa (Sept. 01) and tied his career high with 2 sacks against both Wayne State (Sept. 17) and Minot State (Oct. 15)... Played in the 2016 Mineral Water Bowl game where the Beavers beat Washburn 36-23, being the first team in program history to win a post-season game... Named to the 2016 NSIC North Division All-Conference First Team Defense.

2015 (So): Played in 10 games recording 24 tackles including 10 solo tackles… Recorded 3.5 sacks for a loss of 18 yards and recovered one fumble.

2014 (Fr.): Played in 10 games and starting one on the defensive line... Racked up 15 total tackles (5 solo, 10 assisted) along with two tackles for a loss, one sack and one forced fumble.

2013 (RS): Redshirted.

Prior to BSU: Won three varsity letters for the Hudson High School football team… Earned all-conference, all-metro, all-region, and first-team all-state accolades as a Raider… Named Big Rivers Conference Defensive Player of the Year and was a selection for the Northwest All-Star Game… Racked up 80 tackles, 10 sacks, two touchdowns, and six forced fumbles… Was a part of a defensive unit that once held the Menomonie High School rushing attack to -58 yards… An honor roll student in high school.

Personal: Born April 17, 1995… Son of Andy Burgess and Kathi Morrissette in… At BSU, plans to major in criminal justice.
