2017 (Sr): Played in all 11 games for the Beavers... Totaled 43 tackles including 18 solo and 25 assisted... Tallied three sacks and five tackles for loss... 2016 (Jr): Played in all 12 games for the Beavers... Totaled 30 tackles on the season including 12 solo and 18 assisted... Totaled 5.5 tackles for a loss of 27 yards and 4 sacks for 25 yards... Broke up one pass at Minnesota Duluth (Oct. 22)... Played in the 2016 Mineral Water Bowl game where the Beavers beat Washburn 36-23, being the first team in program history to win a post-season game... Named to the 2016 All-NSIC Second Team Defense.
2015 (So): Was named to the 2015 All-NSIC Honorable Mention Team... Played in 11 games recording 43 tackles, 24 of which were solo tackles and had nine tackles for a loss for negative 45 yards… Tallied 5.5 sacks for a loss of 37 yards… Forced two fumbles and recovered three… Set single game career highs in tackles (8), solo tackles (3), assisted tackles (5), and tackles for a loss (1.5) at Southwest Minnesota (Sept. 12).
2014 (Fr): Played in nine games at defensive line... Totaled 11 total tackles (3 solo, 8 assisted) along with 2.5 tackles for a loss (-7 yards), one sack and one pass break up... Recorded one tackle in his first college appearance at Wayne State (Sept. 6)... Recorded his first career sack versus Northern State (Nov. 15) along with a career high three tackles.
2013 (RS): Redshirted.
Prior to BSU: A member of the 2011 Waterford Union High School team that made an appearance in the state championship game, Wirsching was a 2012 all-region defensive lineman for the Wolverines… In 2012 he totaled 28 tackles, which included 14 tackles for loss and 10 sacks to help guide the team to a 7-0 record in Southern Lakes play and its second consecutive league title… Selected First Team All-Southern Lakes and all-county as a senior… Also successful in the classroom and has earned an academic letter and honor roll recognition… Teammate of fellow NLI signee Brandon Schindler.
Personal: Born Aug. 2, 1995… Son of Kurt and Susan Wirsching… Proposed criminal justice major at Bemidji State… Brother, Nick Wirsching currently competes on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh football team.
