2017 (SR): Played in 11 games totaling 20 solo and 21 assisted tackles in his senior season... Recovered one fumble vs Minot State (Oct. 14)... Recorded three interceptions returned for 40 yards...2017 Fall Academic All-NSIC Team... Third ever Beaver Football student-athlete named CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team.
2016 (Jr): Played in 11 games totaling 9 tackles including 6 assisted tackles... Recorded 2 interceptions on the season for 21 yards... Named to the 2016 Fall Academic All-NSIC List... Part of the 2016 Mineral Water Bowl champion Beavers who beat Washburn 36-23, being the first team in program history to win a post-season game.
2015 (So): Was named to the 2015 Academic All-NSIC Team... Played in 11 games where he recorded 42 total tackles including 27 solo tackles… Broke up two passes and had one interception… Recorded career high eight tackles at MSU Moorhead (Oct. 17).
2014 (Fr): Played in 11 games in which he started in two... in his first season he piled up eight total tackles (4 solol, 4 assisted) along with 1.5 tackles for loss (-3 yards), two interceptions and two pass break ups... Had a career-high four tackles (3 solo, 1 assisted) along with one interception that he returned for 12 yards versus Sioux Falls (Sept. 13).
2013 (RS): Redshirted.
Prior to BSU: Standout safety and offensive threat for Pinnacle High School… A captain, Tompkins totaled 62 tackles (35 solo) to earn 2012 Arizona Division I All-Conference… Added five fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles, two interceptions and blocked two field goals… Returned one of his blocked kicks 87 yards to the end zone in a 27-7 victory against Anthem Boulder Creek (Oct.12)… On the ground he piled up nearly 400 yards rushing and three touchdowns and brought in more than 100 yards receiving with a score… Named 2012 All-Tribune honorable mention on both offense and defense, Mesa Tribune Honor Roll on four occasions, AZ Central Player of the Game five times and was a 2011 Marine Corps Player of the Year finalist… Also competes in track and lacrosee for the Pioneers… Excels in the classroom as a member of the 2012-13 Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
