Prior to BSU: Lettered in football for Prior Lake High School… His senior season he was named all-conference and won the Daggit Award for Sportsmanship… His team was the South Suburban Conference champions in 2013 then went on to the state quarterfinals and were the section champions in 2014… Played in 10 games as a senior, where he accumulated 32 total tackles and four sacks.

Personal: Born Dec. 3, 1996…Son of Jullie and Philip Herbst… He is currently undecided on his major… Was his table leader at his religion class along with working with grade school students at after school programs and coaching youth football… Uncles, Ron and Steven, played football at St. John’s University (Minn.).
