Prior to joining the Cyclones, Olson spent his first two years of collegiate coaching at Missouri Western State University. He served as the offensive line graduate assistant coach during the 2013 season before taking over as the tight ends coach in 2014. Olson began his coaching career as offensive line coach and run game coordinator at Stroughton High School in 2012.
