Roger Rhodes

Video Coordinator

Roger Rhodes enters his second season as the video coordinator for the BSU football team. In addition to this appointment, Rhodes brings six years of collegiate experience to Bemidji State.

During Rhodes's first season, the Beavers received votes in the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll for the week of Oct. 8, 2018 after defeating NSIC South Division powerhouse University of Sioux Falls, which also received votes in the AFCA Coaches' Poll the previous week.

Before coming to BSU, Rhodes graduated from Mesabi Range College in 2018 with an associate’s degree in graphic design media, where he served as the equipment manager for the Norsemen in football, men’s basketball, and baseball. In 2017, Rhodes and the Norsemen football team advanced to the NJCAA Region 13/Minnesota College Athletic Conference Championship and the NJCAA Red Grange Bowl. Mesabi Range ended as the MCAC runner-up and received votes in the NJCAA Football Poll for the week of Oct. 3, 2017, after defeating No. 9 nationally ranked and MCAC rival Central Lakes Community College.

Prior to Mesabi Range, Rhodes pursued his associate in arts degree at Itasca Community College, where he served as the equipment manager for the Vikings in football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball. In 2015, Rhodes and the Vikings baseball team were crowned the MCAC Champions.

Before making his collegiate debut at ICC, Roger spent two years at Hill City High School as the equipment manager for football, girls’ basketball, and baseball. During the 2014 season, Rhodes and the Hornets baseball team were crowned the Northern Lakes Conference Champions. During the 2013-2014 season, Rhodes and the Hornets girls’ basketball team were named the NLC runner-up.

Before graduating from HCHS in 2012, Rhodes was the student manager for the football, boys’ basketball, and baseball teams. The boys’ basketball team was named the NLC runner-up. During his football career, Rhodes managed under Justin Isaacs, who played at BSU as a defensive back from 1998 to 2002.

In addition to his role on the BSU football team, Rhodes also serves as the student equipment manager for the men’s and women’s basketball teams, both of which advanced to play in the quarterfinals of the 2018-19 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Rhodes is from Hill City, Minn., and a senior at Bemidji State, pursuing his bachelor’s degree in graphic design.
