Men's basketball to showcase skills at 2002 Beaver Bash

Bemidji, Minn. - Fans will get an opportunity to see the 2002-03 men’s basketball team this Wednesday for the first time. The squad will perform in a short scrimmage as well as other drills. Fans will get the chance to win $10,000 as well as participate in the “Half-Court Shot” and “Buzzer Shot.” Prizes will be handed out for those in attendance including special prizes for the “Super Fan” dress-up contest. Admission is free and the activity will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the BSU Gymnasium.

The Beavers tied for third last season as they were picked to finish ninth in the preseason polls. They tallied a 17-11 overall record and 13-5 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. This season’s preseason polls has BSU tabbed to finish second and junior forward Charles Hanks (Chicago, Ill.) was selected as a “Player to Watch” for this season.

Looking ahead to the first affair this season, BSU will battle with the Vikings from Valley City State on the road Nov. 22 at 8:00 p.m. The first glimpse that BSU fans will get of the Beavers at home will be against UW-Superior Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m.
