Ellisor named NSIC Player of the Week
BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Senior forward James Ellisor (Glendale, Ariz.) was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week today by the league office for his efforts in the 68-49 home opener victory Sunday against University of Sioux Falls. He scored 27 points and added a career-high 15 rebounds in the game to earn his first-career weekly conference honor. The last time BSU had a NSIC Player of the Week was Feb. 22, 2010 when current junior Lance Rongstad (G/F, Eleva, Wis.) earned the award.

In addition to his points and rebounds, Ellisor went 11-for-18 (61.15) from the field, 1-for-2 (50%) from 3-point land and 4-for-5 (80%) from the charity stripe. He also added a game-high four assists and tied game-highs in steals (2) and blocks (2). In 36 minutes of playing time he only turned the ball over once. The Beavers closed the game against the future NSIC members with a 20-3 run during the final 7:12. Over that span, Ellisor contributed seven points, four rebounds, an assist, steal and a block.

In three games this season, Ellisor is averaging 23.3 points and 11.0 rebounds, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field. The double-double was his first of the season. The 27 points fell just one point shy of his career-high and matched his output against No. 10 Metropolitan State College in the season opener Nov. 11. In 2010-11 he posted 10 games with 20 or more points. He already has two this season.

BSU goes on the road Nov. 22 at University of Wisconsin-Stout for a 7 p.m. tilt before hosting the InnKeepers Beaver Classic Nov. 25-26. Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference member Southwest Minnesota State University, future NSIC member Minot State University and Michigan Tech University visit Bemidji, as BSU plays Minot State Nov. 25 and Michigan Tech Nov. 26. Both games are set to tip-off at 7 p.m. SMSU will play both teams on the opposite evenings at 5 p.m.
