Beavers earn votes in national rankings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Bemidji State University men’s basketball team received two votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II Coaches’ Poll released Tuesday. The votes are the most in program history and marks the second time BSU has appeared in the NABC poll after earning a vote in the Jan. 24 ranking this season.

The only other Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference team in the poll was Winona State University with five votes.     

The Beavers are NSIC Regular Season Champions after a 16-6 record in league play. BSU has a 21-7 overall record that sets the program record for wins in a season.

The Beavers open the NSIC/Sanford Health Men’s Basketball Tournament as the No. 1 seed Feb. 29 at 7 p.m. as No. 8-seed Wayne State College visits BSU Gymnasium. The Wildcats finished the regular season 10-16 overall and 9-13 in NSIC play.   

Bemidji State University, located in Bemidji, Minn., is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
