Bemidji State mourns the passing of Kaden Hart

BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Bemidji State University mourns the passing of Kaden Hart, a junior on the men’s basketball team.

“We are so heart-broken with the passing of Kade. He was an intelligent, thoughtful and helpful gentle giant,” said Beaver Men’s Basketball Head Coach Mike Boschee. “Kade helped us coaches in many ways, saying the things that the team needed to hear and continually trying to get his teammates to do the right things on the court.

”Our hearts go out to Kade’s family and friends closest to him. He will be missed by so many and especially our BSU community.”

Kaden was a criminal justice major and was named to the 2019-20 Winter Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference All-Academic Team. He played in 11 games in each of his freshman and sophomore seasons, and had a break-out game this past January with five rebounds, two blocks and his first career 3-pointer in eight minutes at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

The son of Mike and Connie Hart of Faribault, Minn., Kaden graduated from Faribault High School in 2017.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 24 at 1 p.m. at the River Valley Church in Faribault, Minn. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed through a link on Kaden’s obituary page [Here].

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23 from 4–8 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
