BSU men lead after first round of Concordia Invite

MOORHEAD, Minn. (Village Green Golf Club) -- The Bemidji State University men’s golf team owns a seven-shot lead after round one of the 36-hole Concordia Invitational in Moorhead, Minn.

Paced by the trio of Jim Foss (Jr., Roseau, Minn.), Chris Curb (Fr., Bemidji, Minn.) and Casey Hill (So., Virginia, Minn.) who each finished among the top five on the leader board, the Beavers finished the day with an 18-hole team total of 283 (-5) and lead their closest competitor, University of Manitoba (290 +2), by seven strokes with 18 holes to play in the season-opening, nine-team event.

Foss fired a five-under-par 68 to pace the Beavers and share the lead with the Bisons Riley Unger for top individual honors, while Curb and Hill also finished day one under par.

The Beavers return to action tomorrow as they travel across Moorhead to The Meadows Golf Course to wrap up the event.

Bemidji State returns home Sunday to host the 60th Annual BSU Invitational. Opening round tee times are set to begin at 11 a.m. with a final round shotgun start slated for 8:30 a.m. Monday ay the Bemidji Town and Country Club.
