Bemidji State opens 2010 NCAA Super Regional play

PALM DESERT, Calif. (The Classic Club) -- The Bemidji State University men’s golf team posted a 315 (+27) Monday to open 2010 NCAA Division II West/Central Super Regional play at the par-72, 7,100-yard Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.  The Beavers wrapped up day one of competition in 19th place overall.

The Beavers, who are 24 strokes off the lead set by Western Washington University, enter day two of the three-day, 54-hole championship led by Jim Foss (Jr., Roseau, Minn.).  The junior carded a three-over-par 75 to sit tied with 15 others, including Winona State University’s Brady Stranstalien for 27th place individually.  

Trevor Blair of California State University-Stanislaus fired a 69 (-3) to lead the field of 108 individuals after 18 holes.  

Round two of regional play gets underway at 7:30 a.m. PST with the Beavers scheduled for a 12:00 p.m PST tee time at The Classic Club.
