Hafdal takes second at WSU Warrior Classic

TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (Trempealeau Mountain GC) -- Bemidji State University sophomore John Hafdal (Prior Lake, Minn.) carded a one-under-par 70 Saturday to take second place in the final contest of the 2012-13 regular season. Hafdal and the Beavers finished fourth as a team in the WSU Warrior Classic with 298 (+14).

Hafdal, who has been the Beavers' top golfer virtually all season, posted a 70 at the par-71, 6,485-yard Trempealeau Mountain Golf Club to edge teammate Nathan Brown (So., Binbrook, Ontario) by one stroke (71).

The Beavers finished the event at +14, nine strokes off the pace set by Minot State University, which fired a 289 (+5) to take top team honors. St. Cloud State University and Minnesota State University, Mankato tied for second with 292 (+8), while Winona State University rounded out the field in fifth with 303 (+19).

The 18-hole event brings the BSU men's golf team's regular-season slate to a close.
