Bemidji State zeros in on NSIC Spring Championship

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University men’s golf team wraps up the 2013-14 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men’s golf championship with 36 holes at the par-72, 6,947-yard Tiburon Golf Course in Omaha, Neb. April 12-13.

The Beavers begin final 36 holes of the unique 72-hole event tied for sixth place with 314-329—643 (+67), 44 stokes behind tournament leader St. Cloud State University (296-303—599/+23).

Leintz leads all BSU players tied for 14th, 11 shots off the pace set by SCSU's Tyler Koivisto (+2), at 13-over-par (157).

The first two rounds of the event were played Sept. 30-Oct. 1 at The Classic at Madden’s Resort in Brainerd, Minn.

Led by a seven-over-par 151 by Aaron Leintz (Fr., Bagley, Minn.), the Bemidji State University men's golf team placed eighth at the Upper Iowa University Invitational at Quail Run in Columbus, Neb. April 5-6.

The Beavers are coming off of an eighth place finish at the UIU Invitational April 6-7. BSU carded a 320 and 302 to finished the 36-hole event at 47-over-par at 623—27 strokes out of title contention. Aaron Leintz (So., Bagley, Minn.) followed a six-over-par 78 with a 73 (+1) to finish in a tie for tenth individually, seven shots off the pace set by Concordia University-St. Paul's Adam Petterson (72-72--144/E).
