ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Bemidji State University senior golfer Samuel Otto tied for first individually to lead the BSU men’s golf team to a second place finish at the St. Cloud State Husky Classic, Monday. The Beavers finished just two strokes behind first-place finisher, University of Manitoba, with a team score of 593.

Otto paced the Beavers with an even-par 144 (74-70) while freshman Ian Mackenzie-Olson tied for third individually after shooting two-over par 146 (71-75). Junior Cody Cook carded 152 (77-75) while Brandon Nelson and Tanner Sperling round out the top five with a 153 (74-79) and 155 (77-78), respectively.
Bemidji State also had a “B” team compete at the tournament, finishing fifth out of 10 teams. Brennan Hockmann paced the team with a 149 (75-74) while Joe Vatnsdal (79-74, 153), Cole Johnson (78-76, 154), Ben Skaar (79-79, 158) and Issac Cihak (80-79, 159) round out the top five.
The Beavers conclude the fall season Oct. 9-10 of next week by traveling to St. Joseph, Mo., to compete at the Holiday Inn Express/Candlewood Suites Central Region Invitational.
