Mackenzie-Olson fires one-under par to pace Beavers at NSU Golf Classic

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Behind a one-under par 212 (67-72-73) from sophomore Ian Mackenzie-Olson, the Bemidji State University men’s golf team finished 15th at the NSU Golf Classic held in Muskogee, Okla.

Behind Mackenzie-Olson, Brenna Hockman shot five-over par (70-75-73, 218) to tie for 43rd individually while Matthew Gregg (73-74-77, 224), Cody Cook (74-83-78, 235) and Brandon Nelson (78-76-86, 240) round out the Beavers’ scoring. The Beavers also sent Chris Swenson and Tanner Sperling to compete as individuals with Swenson carding 218 (73-67-78) and Sperling shooting 222 (74-72-76).

Lindenwood University took home the team title by 15 strokes after totaling a team score of 831 (278-275-278) while Arkansas Tech University (277-282-287, 846) and Central Missouri University (286-272-288, 846) tied for second.

The Beavers continue the fall season next week by traveling to the JR Watkins Noethern Regional held at th Jewel Golf Course in Lake City, Minn.
