BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University men’s golfer Brandon Nelson was tabbed the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week after winning the Augustana Fall Invitational.
The sophomore from Litchfield, Minn., won the invite by ten strokes after firing for a nine-under par 135 (67-68) at the Augustan Fall Invitational held at the Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D. This is the first time that Nelson has been honored by the NSIC.
Nelson began the tournament by shooting the lowest round in the NSIC with a 67 on day one. He then followed with a four-under 68 in round two.
Nelson and the rest of the Beaver’s men’s golf squad look to close the fall season next week when they travel to St. Joseph, Mo., to compete in the Holiday Inn Express Classic, Oct. 8-9.
