BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University men’s golf junior Brandon Nelson carded two-under par 214 (69-73-72) to finish third individually and lead the Beavers to a second-place finish at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Spring Invite held at the Antelope Hills South Golf Course in Prescott, Arizona.

The Beavers shot a team score of 877 (292-292-293) in the three-day, three-round tournament and finished just five strokes back of first-place Arizona Christian University.
Behind Nelson, who finished just one-stroke back of second place, Ben Corbid tied for 10th individually after carding 219 (74-71-74). He was followed by Tanner Sperling who tied for 12th with a score of 221 (75-75-71), Chris Swenson who tied for 20th (74-74-76=224) and Diego Echeveste (75-74-76=225).
Competing as individuals, Aaron Schnathorst (77-75-77=229), Alex Iverson (78-73-78=229) and Gus Vatnsdal (76-71-82=229) each tied for 32nd while Seth Schricker (77-82-73) tied for 38th, TJ Raden tied for 50th (81-80-75=236) and Matthew Gregg placed 66th (88-89-93=270).
The Beavers take a break from action and will continue the spring season Mar. 30-31 when they travel to Kansas City, Mo., to compete in the NSIC Preview at the Shoal Creek Golf Course.
