BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University sophomore Seth Schricker (79-76=155) and freshman Jack Southard (80-75=155) each tied for fourth individually to lead the BSU Men’s Golf Team to a silver medal at the Upper Iowa Invite Saturday afternoon.
The Beavers combined for a team score of 633 (326-307) including a 19-stroke improvement on day two but finished 17 strokes behind the tournament winners Upper Iowa University (315-301=616). Bemdij State had all five members of its top-five place in the top-20 of the tournament.
Behind Schricker and Southard, sophomore Alex Iverson placed 13th after firing 162 (80-82) while senior Aaron Schnathorst placed 16th with a score of 164 (87-77) and redshirt junior Diego Echeveste tied for 18th (87-79=166) to round out the Beavers’ top five.
Upper Iowa’s Logan Schweinefus took home the individual title after he carded a five-over par 149 (77-72).
Junior TJ Raden tied for 14th after he carded 163 (81-82) and competed as an individual for the Beavers while freshman Max Karnik (93-84=177) and sophomore Gus Vatnsdal (92-96=188) competed as individuals as well.
Bemidji State will jump quickly into its next tournament and will travel to Warrensburg, Mo., to compete at The Mule held at The Mules National Golf Club, April 5-6.
