EDINA, Minn. – Bemidji State University defenseman Brendan Harms has been selected for Western Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week honors following play versus University of Alaska, Nov. 13-14.
Harms led the WCHA in scoring last weekend, logging a four-point effort (2g-2a) in helping Bemidji State earn its first league victory and a split in its series against visiting Alaska. The junior from Steinbach, Manitoba had a hand in all three Beavers' goals in a 4-3 loss Friday, setting a career high with three points on a goal and two assists. Harms then gave BSU a 2-0 lead en route to a 6-3 triumph Saturday, scoring a power-play marker at 11:21 of the first period.
Harms is currently second on the team in scoring with eight points, while his six assists match Cory Ward for the team’s lead.
The Beavers, now 2-5-2 on the season and 1-4-1 in WCHA play, continues league play this weekend when it hosts Lake Superior State University at Sanford Center. The series will get underway at 7:37 p.m. Friday with a 7:07 p.m. opening faceoff set for Saturday.
