BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Athletic Department and Beaver Hockey will host their annual hat and mitten drive and teddy bear toss when the BSU men’s hockey team hosts Bowling Green State University, Dec. 11-12.
Beaver Hockey faithful are encouraged to bring winter hats, mittens, gloves and/or other cold weather gear to contribute to at the ticket office as they enter Sanford Center both Friday and Saturday.
Fans are also encouraged to bring new, or gently used, stuffed animals to the men’s hockey game Dec. 12. Following BSU’s first goal, those in attendance will have an opportunity to toss their teddy bear donation(s) onto the Sanford Center ice.
All items collected will be delivered to local charities and will be distributed to children and residents of the Bemidji area in need this holiday season.
