EDINA, Minn. – Once again bringing the men’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) to a national audience, the league will renew its partnership with the American Sports Network (ASN) to broadcast two Association games as part of ASN’s Friday night college hockey package.
Fans nationwide will be able to watch Bemidji State visit Bowling Green in a 2016 playoff rematch at BGSU’s “Madhouse on Mercer” on Friday, January 6, 2017 (8:37 p.m. ET). Three weeks later, ASN heads to Big Rapids, Mich. – recently named the nation’s fifth-best college hockey city – for a showdown between those same Bowling Green Falcons and the host Ferris State Bulldogs, the reigning WCHA playoff champions (Jan. 27, 2017 at 8:37 p.m. ET).
Both games, along with the entire ASN college hockey package, will be shown on select affiliates of the Sinclair Networks Groups and on several Regional Sports Networks around the country.
“This partnership allows us another avenue to showcase the WCHA’s tremendous student-athletes, programs and fans to a national audience,” said WCHA President and Men’s League Commissioner Bill Robertson. “The American Sports Network continues to do amazing things for college hockey, and we are proud to join them in growing exposure for the WCHA and our sport.”
With this deal, the WCHA joins Atlantic Hockey, the Big Ten Conference, Hockey East, ECAC Hockey and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference as part of the ASN Friday night college hockey package.
The entire ASN schedule, along with an ability to find station affiliates by zip code, can be found here: http://americansportsnet.com/schedule/.
Both WCHA contests televised on ASN, along with up to 191 WCHA games overall, will be streamed live via WCHA.tv.
