BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Watch Bemidji State men's hockey head coach Tom Serratore and sophomore defender Justin Baudry preview the team's upcoming Western Collegiate Hockey Association series versus Lake Superior State.
The Beavers and Lakers rekindle one of BSU's most historic rivalries this weekend. In a series dating back to the mid-1960s, three times BSU has met LSSU in the national tournament and defeated the Lakers en route to a national title (1968, 1969 and 1970). However, LSSU owns a 28-22-3 edge in the all-time series, including a 13-10-2 mark in games played in Bemidji, Minn.
The Lakers come into the series unbeaten in five of the last six games versus Bemidji State (4-1-1).
The Beavers, now 12-5-1 overall and 12-1-1-1 in league play, look to maintain a stronghold on first place in the league standings versus the Lakers. The WCHA series will get underway at 7:07 p.m. Friday with a 7:07 opening face-off also set for Saturday. Tickets are available at the Sanford Center Bob Lowth Ford Pickup Window and begin at $12 for youth and $18 for adults.
