BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University men’s hockey team defeated the University of Alaska Saturday to lock down the fourth seed in the 2018 Western Collegiate Hockey Association Playoffs at the right to host its first round match up, March 2, 3 and 4, if needed. Tickets for the best-of-three series are available now.
The Beavers welcome the No. 5 seed, Michigan Technological University, for a best-of-three series with the right to move on to the league’s semifinal round, March 9, 10 and 11, if needed, with the ultimate goal of playing for the WCHA postseason championship and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament, March 17.
Tickets for BSU’s first round series versus MTU are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting the Sanford Center Box Office from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Tickets can also be purchased online (ticketmaster.com) or at any Ticketmaster outlet.
General admission tickets for the series begin at $12. Reserved tickets are also available in Pink and Bronze sections for $15 (plus taxes and fees), Silver for $25 (plus taxes and fees), in the Gold Section for $25 (plus taxes and fees), and seats in the Club Section are $30 (plus taxes and fees). Student tickets can be purchased at the Hobson Memorial Union Information Desk beginning Feb. 26 for $5 with a valid BSU or NTC student ID while they last.
WCHA first round playoff series were included in the 2017-18 season ticket packages. Any season ticket holder, who does not have tickets for the series, can expect them in the mail soon. Contact the Beaver Pride Office with any questions.
Start times for the best-of-three series are set for 7:07 p.m. Friday and Saturday. If a third game is needed, Sunday’s opening is set for 5:07 p.m.
Locations for all future tournament match ups will be based on the seeding of the advancing teams. The highest seed of each match up has the right to host the series or game.
BSU, now 16-11-3 overall and 13-8-5-3 in WCHA play, hits the road for the final series of the 2017-18 regular season, Feb. 23-24, traveling to Mankato, Minn. for a two-game set versus Minnesota State University, Mankato. The series will get underway at 7:07 p.m. each night at the Verizon Center.
