Played in the Beavers first 10 games of 2011-12 before losing the remainder of the season to injury... Scored his only goal of the season in the Beavers’ season-opening victory over preseason No. 1 Miami (10/7/11)... Established a career-high with five shots on goal at Minnesota Duluth (10/29/11)... Earned a career-high four penalty minutes at Minnesota Duluth (10/29/11)... Logged one of BSU’s two short-handed goals (10/7/11)... Was named to the 2012 WCHA All-Academic Team... 2010-11 / Freshman
Played in 34 games as a rookie, which included nine starts... Led all BSU freshman in scoring with 11 points (3g-8a)... Tied for seventh in points for the Beavers during 2010-11 season... Tied for seventh on the team in assists with eight... Made his collegiate debut as BSU opened the Sanford Center Oct. 15, 2010 against North Dakota... Tallied first collegiate point on Ian Lowe’s goal against St. Cloud State (11/5/10)... Scored first collegiate goal as BSU picked up its first win of the season 5-4 against Alaska-Anchorage (11/13/10)... Collected two more goals in BSU’s next series on the road at Denver...Went scoreless in next six games before tallying an assist on a Jordan George goal against Ferris State (12/31/10) at the Mariucci Classic in Minneapolis... Produced first multi-point game of collegiate career with two assists including an helper on George’s game-winner against No. 14 Union (1/1/11) at the Mariucci Classic... Prior to BSU
Sam Rendle, a defenseman from Grand Rapids, Minn. came to the Beavers after a season with the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL...  While with Bismarck, the offensive defenseman posted 10 goals, six of which came on the power-play, and 37 assists for 47 points... In 57 regular-season games Rendle was +22... A member of the 2010 Robertson Cup Championship team, Rendle  registered 17 points (6g-11a) in the postseason and was +9 en route to the national title... Rendle posted 13 multi-point games in 2009-10, including leading the Bobcats’ to victories over Alexandria (12/31/09) and Albert Lea (3/26/10) with three assists in each... In the 21 games from Nov. 21, 2009 to Jan. 29, 2010, the blueliner scored in 17 games, piling up six goals and 20 assists for 26 points... Rendle’s efforts helped land him on the NAHL All-Rookie Team... A three-sport athlete at Grand Rapids High School, Rendle participated in hockey, football, tennis and track... He was a captain of the Thunderhawks’ hockey team and led them to the State Tournament in 2007... Also played with Team Minnesota in the Chicago Showcase... Rendle stands as one of six players hailing from the State of Minnesota.
