2017-18 / Sophomore
An AHCA "All American Scholars" recipient... Whitecloud played in 36 games for the Beavers... Missing only two games to play for Team Canada in the 2017 Karjala Cup, where he posted an assist in two games played... Recorded four goals and matched his career high of 14 assists for 18 points to finish seventh on the team in scoring... Opened the seaosn with two assists in a 5-3 victory over Minnesota Duluth (10/13/18)... Assembled a four-game point streak (2g-3a) from Dec. 29-Jan. 6... Recorded game-winning goals in back-to-game games to lead Bemidji State to a WCHA series sweep over Alabama-Huntsville (12/29-30/17)... Capped his collegiate stint with a career-best three assists in BSU's final WCHA Playoff game versus Michigan Tech (3/3/18)... Was tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals... Finished the season with a team-best 51 blocked shots... Was the anchor of a BSU power-play unit that set a Division I-era program mark for efficiency converting 31-of-143 opportunities (.217) finishing the season third on the team in power-play... Whitecloud netted 10 (1g-9a) of his 19 points on the man advantage... Named a 2017-18 WCHA Scholar-Athlete... Earned a spot on the WCHA All-Academic Team... Signed an entry-level contract to play with the Vegas Golden Knights.

2016-17 / Freshman
Whitecloud appeared in all 41 games as a freshman... Recorded 3 goals and 14 assists (second on the team) including his first goal and point in the seaon-opening 2-1 win over Bowling Green (Oct. 7, 2016)... He also tallied 59 blocked shots (second on the team), 50 shots on goal, and a +3 plus/minus rating. Whitecloud was selected twice as WCHA Rookie of the Week following the series against Bowling Green (Oct. 7-8, 2016) and the series against Alabama-Huntsville (Feb. 10-11, 2017). Whitecloud gained one goal during the series win over Northern Michigan in the Beavers' WHCA quarterfinals (3/3-5/2017).

Prior to BSU
Whitecloud attended Vincent Massey High School in Brandon, Manitoba. He spent two seasons playing for the Virden Oil Capitals in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. As an alternate captain for Virden in 2015-16, Whitecloud was the top scoring defender for the Oil Capitals and ranked fifth among MJHL defensemen with 40 points (6g-34a) in 59 games played. A MJHL Second Team All-Star, Whitecloud recorded 25 power-play points (4g-21a) to lead all MJHL defenders in power-play assists. Whitecloud also received the Oil Capital's Top Defenseman Award. 

In 2014-15, Whitecloud played in 57 games and registered 10 points with three goals and seven assists. In 118 career MJHL games, Whitecloud posted 50 points with nine goals and 41 assists. Whitecloud is also a talented golfer as he was the runner-up at the 2015 Tamarack Provincial golf tournament.

Born to Tim Whitecloud and Donna Cullen on November 28, 1996 in Brandon, Manitoba. Zach is a business administration major at BSU.
