Steve Schreiber finishes 15th in high jump at NCAA Championships

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - At the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships yesterday, Bemidji State sophomore Steve Schrieber (Chisago Lakes, Minn.) ended his superb season tying for 15th in the high jump. Schreiber vaulted 6’7” on his second jump and was unable to clear 6’9” in his next three attempts.

The school’s recordholder (6’10 3/4”), Schreiber owns the league crown for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. He won the outdoor title with a 6’6 3/4” mark while he cleared 6’6” at indoors. Schreiber bettered 6’8” in five meets this spring.

Schreiber was the only Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference athlete on the list - there were two North Central Conference athletes.

Will Littleton, a freshman from Angelo State, won the title with a leap of 7’0 1/4”. The top eight finishers at the Championships earned All-America honors.

On the women’s side, BSU sophomore Caesare Stimson (Chisago Lakes, Minn.) competes in the high jump today at 5:00 p.m.
