Wilson named NSIC Field Athlete of the Week
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Northern Sun Intercollegiate
Conference announced Tuesday that sophomore Adam Wilson
(Forest Lake, Minn.) has been named Field Athlete of the Week
after winning the shot put at the Ron Masanz Invitational.
Wilson’s toss of 51-11 1/4 narrowly shaved Joe Ferraro’s
school record, set in the 2000 season.
Wilson, who was recognized with All-NSIC honors during the indoor season, now holds Bemidji State’s indoor and outdoor shot put records. He will enter the conference championships in Duluth, Minn. this weekend ranked in the top ten in the NSIC in both the shot put (2nd) and discus (10th). In four meets this outdoor season, Wilson has won twice and finished no lower than third place.
The NSIC championship meet will begin at 3:00 pm on Friday at Minnesota-Duluth’s Griggs Field.
